Summer Fun Tournament 2013 Concludes:
Thanks to everyone who participated in the 2013 Summer Tournament. Thanks to our casters, Loko, StoneCold, and their many cocasters. Thanks to our illustrious tournament host, TheVoid. Thanks to the 18 teams who participated! It was a blast, and much silly fun was had, and many weird compositions were run. Void rays were common, instead of rare, as were triple and quadruple support builds. Congratulations to the winners, Cyberdyne Systems, and the runners up, Team Cookie. They win the official Star Battle fun tournament No-prize. We hope to see some of the exciting developments from this tournament come NA-10 time.
Lag-out Bug Fix Attempt:
This week, Zedu rolled out a change to Star Battle on EU and NA that made the game no longer kick players out of the game. Reports are mixed as to whether this actually prevents drops or not, with some players saying it really helps, and others saying it doesn’t make a difference. We can hope that with continued searching by players and map makers and Blizzard, a fix for the terriblconnectivity issues will be found soon.
NA-10 Information is up:
The first batch of NA-10 information is up. Most importantly, the dates are August 17-18. The format will be double elimination. Once more is known about the tournament, most information about the tournament will be hosted here on LearnStarBattle.com, including rules, schedules, and team signups, but for now the only information is available from the discussion thread on the Star Battle forums.. Restart from replay will be allowed in the case of drops. Casters will be able to join the chat channels of teams as the game progresses to give in-game chat on the stream. Rules about replays will be very strict– replays must be uploaded within 15 minutes or risk forfeiting the match.
